A Word to Remember: FIGHT
Many of us feel scared and overwhelmed by the constant flood of bad news. As we navigate the challenges ahead, you can remember this word: FIGHT
F – Focus on One Thing: Pick one way to serve and dedicate yourself to it. If we spread ourselves too thin, we won’t make progress.
I – Be Intentional: Be mindful of the media you consume and the problems you focus on. The goal of our opposition is to make us feel helpless. Stay informed but don’t let negativity consume you.
G – Gather with Others: Build community, have fun, and support each other. We are fortunate in Spokane to be able to gather safely and make positive change.
H – Hope Where You Are: Hope is a powerful tool. Find it in small moments—a sunrise, a kind word, a shared laugh. When we lose hope, they win.
T – Train or Learn: Now is the time to learn skills that will help us in the long game—organizing, canvassing, immigrant rights, first aid, and more. If you have experience in civil rights movements, we need you to teach us what has worked.
