Call to Meeting
Pursuant to Section 6.1.3 of the Bylaws of the Spokane County Democratic Central Committee, this Call to Meeting has been issued by the undersigned voting members of the Executive Board to a Special Meeting for the limited purpose of (a) electing officers of the Spokane County Democratic Central Committee, including Chair, Vice Chair, and two State Central Committee Members, and (b) voting on endorsements of candidates for elective office that carry recommendations from the Endorsement Committee and/or the Executive Board.
Date(s): The Special Meeting will be held virtually by using Zoom technology on Saturday, July 11, 2020 and, if necessary, shall continue and reconvene on Sunday, July 12, 2020.
Time(s): The Special Meeting shall start at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2020 and continue until 5:00 pm on that same day, and, if necessary, shall reconvene at 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 12, 2020 until 5:00 pm.
Business to be conducted at the Special Meeting is limited to the election of four officers and the voting on endorsements of candidates for elective office that carry recommendations from the Endorsement Committee and/or the Executive Board.
The Zoom technology virtual meeting access information will be emailed to all voting members of the body (elected and appointed Precinct Committee Officers in Spokane County) prior to the meeting date and will also be posted on the website of Spokane County Democrats by 8:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2020 (www.spokanedemocrats.org.)
The proposed Agenda and proposed Rules are attached and are incorporated by reference. Voting members have the opportunity to provide comment and feedback by email concerning the proposed Agenda and proposed Rules to the Executive Board by Friday, July 3, 2020 at 5:00 pm. The proposed Agenda and proposed Rules may be modified by the Executive Board before the special meeting to reflect such comment and feedback.
Ballots will be cast electronically by voting members using technology provided through and with the assistance of staff of the Washington State Democratic Party.
Voting members of the body without access to internet or email may request reasonable accommodations for the purpose of casting ballots by calling the office (509-324-8525) and leaving a voicemail no later than Friday, July 3, 2020 at 5:00 pm.
Pursuant to Section 4.5.1 of the Bylaws, proxy votes are not permitted at a Special Meeting called for the purpose of electing the Chair.
