The Power of Passionate People

More than 100 people came to a historic house in the middle of Browne's Addition last night to stand up for progressive local politics and to provide enthusiastic support for Bonnie Mager's reelection campaign for County Commissioner.

The usual Democratic activists were there, along with many of the returning favorites from Bonnie's first campaign, which swept her into office after a heroic grass roots effort.

While Bonnie claimed to not enjoy campaigning and truly hoped to continue her job without such events, it was equally clear that the many who braved the traffic, missed figure skating and possibly one of the nicest winter evenings in Spokane 2010 were there to ensure that Bonnie had no trouble campaigning at all.

Her supporters trumpeted Bonnie's impressive record of land use protections, sound environmental policies and fiscal responsibility. Bonnie truly is a unique blend of monetary responsibility with progressive ideals.

As the Commissioner said, "I won't be a venture capitalist with your money. I invest our county's funds only in projects where I could invest my own money." This common sense approach is understandable and appreciated in Spokane County.

The Spokane County Democrats will continue to work hard ensuring that Bonnie's strong, progressive voice remains on the County Commissioners and thank you all for your continued support.
